"Shorty" has the ability to head in any direction you desire. Though he has proven to be an exciting prospect as a hunter/jumper, he would also suit a career as a dressage horse or eventer. With a sound mind and sweet disposition, he would give his rider/trainer 100%.
He is sound, with no previous unsoundness. He does best in front shoes if being ridden often on gravel or hard surfaces regularly. Our farm is on a gravel ridge and most of our horses are put in shoes to protect from stone bruises. ‘Shorty’ has good, solid feet and is clean-legged. Apart from a scar on his front left sustained from a pasture abraision, he is free from any other blemishes. This scar does not affect his soundness whatsoever and is just a cosmetic blemish.
Shorty is an easy keeper and gets along well in a herd or in a semi-private paddock with a friend. He keeps his condition well during training and is fed daily grain. He has been pastured and maintains a nice shape in that environment. He is content while stabled.
Shorty stands well for the vet and farrier and lunges well. He is easy to catch and load and is patient in the cross ties when in the barn or in the wash rack.
Shorty has been ridden by juniors and amateurs. He is not spooky and takes new challenges in a calm manner. The only show prep he needs in a lunge or hand walk if brought to a new venue.
He is a rideable gelding with a smooth slow adjustable trot and a regular-strided, rocking-horse canter. His canter rhythm is one his best qualities. He has been jumped through grids and has experience jumping courses up to 2’9. He has attended a handful of shows and typically places in the ribbons. His scope has not yet been realized. He will very likely be able to jump larger jumps in the future as his training proceeds. He offers lead changes on course if his rider is balanced and if he is relaxed.
Shorty is very light in the bridle, snaffle ridden and his program currently is consistently finding a long and low frame. He appreciates a soft forgiving hand in his training as he is currently learning how to accept contact and move into the bridle.
Shows potential for: Amateur Friendly, Dressage, Eventing, Junior Friendly, Polo, Show Hunter, Show Jumper

Notes on Previous Injuries: Shorty has a cosmetic blemish on his left front on the dorsal aspect of his pastern just below the fetlock. He sustained a cut in the pasture in early 2022. This does not affect his soundness in any way and is purely cosmetic.
