Sale Information

Exceptional war horse offered for sale to the discerning performance home. "JR" is a 2010 15.3h TB gelding, by the Charismatic son Sun King out of the mare Tango Red who herself was 1st or 2nd in 11 of 16 starts in her career. His pedigree boasts the who's who of sport horse proven lines....Icecapade, Key to the Mint, Clever Trick just to name a few. JR was successful on the track, with 51 starts and retiring SOUND at the age of 8 with his last race being February 2018.

JR was let down for a few months, and came in to his second career like he was born to do it. He is truly a beautiful mover, with a large step that rivals any warmblood and envious push from behind. His old style build will take up any leg, and his uphill neck set makes for an enjoyable ride. JR is proving to have the movement and confidence for the hunter ring, but his athleticism would lend well to jumpers dressage or eventing. This is truly a horse that will excel in any discipline.

We have chosen to move slowly with him and ensure a solid foundation for the future, so an experienced rider is recommended to further his education. JR does well with daily rides, or even just a few days a week, but would do best in a consistent program. He bathes (LOVES water!), perfect for farrier (still barefoot!), quiet in turnout alone or with buddies, no vices at all. Truly a pleasure to have around the barn. A good home with the intention of a long term commitment is desired, and price is negotiable to the right situation. Located just 20 minutes from the KY Horse Park and available to be tried any time before or during the makeover.
