FINAL TBMakeover 1200x220 TCA2

TB Makeover Deadlines and Rule Updates

Y'all. We're almost done with June. Final Entry Forms open in 32 days. WHAT IS HAPPENING!? I hope that things are shaping up with your horses and that you're taking them on lots of confidence building field trips this summer. October will be here before we know it!

WEBINARS
Now that I've got you all spun up, don't worry, we're always here to help. Our next webinar will be:
Final Entry Forms: Be Not Afraid
Wednesday, August 1st at 7PM EST with yours truly.
You may email questions in advance to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. As always, webinars will be hosted via Facebook Live in the Thoroughbred Makeover Trainer’s Group and available there for viewing after the fact. They will also be added to the Webinars menu along with past episodes in the Competitor’s section of the Makeover website.

All that said, it's time to get your horses registered or make up your mind on swaps or trainer transfers. If we don't have a horse registered for you by August 1, we will assume you're scratching. We really appreciate timely scratch notifications and also limiting the number of crazed and confused procrastinators trying to reach us at 11PM on July 31st.

HORSE REGISTRATIONS
A lot of you still need to register your horses. Remember that Makeover rules obligate you to register your horse as soon as you have acquired it. Just because it’s registered does not mean you can’t change it. You have until August 1 to make changes to your entries but we want to know as much as we can about the horses impacted by the Makeover. We can’t do that without your horse registrations! You also can't call your horse a Makeover Alumni if it never gets registered.

You can access the horse registration form through the Competitors section of the website. TEAM COMPETITION CAPTAINS may now register their horses via the same process. Those of you who are entered in both the regular competition and the team competition will be able to manage entries for both in the same place.

We also recorded a tutorial on horse registrations and entry management which you can view here.

*Some of you may still experience log in issues with this section of the site. If so, try scrolling down to the bottom of the page and logging in again. If that doesn't resolve the issue, please contact us so we may assist you and we apologize for the trouble.\

FINAL ENTRIES
As stated above, Final Entries open August 1 and they close August 17th. This is when you make your final disicpline selections, enter your horse in the sale, and make stabling reservations. We've worked on this a lot this year and have made some process changes that we think will be signifigant improvements for you guys, such as being able to make changes to select things until much closer to the event. We'll talk about these in our webinar and I'll plan to do a tutorial on it too.

MAKEOVER PLANNING UPDATES
Watch your inboxes and www.TBMakeover.org around July 16th for anouncements on tickets, provisional schedule, silent auction, volunteer sign up, and officials. Some of these details are covered in the Makeover News section of the summer issue of Off- Track Thoroughbred Magazine which will start to hit mailboxes within the next week or so.

We have been working on some updates/ clarifications to our rulebook which are now live on the website. Here are the disciplines affected:

Competitive Trail- Format and scoring clarification. Language added about bitting.

Eventing- Format and scoring changes, adopting a variation of YEH scoring model. Horses will now complete the Cross Country phase BEFORE Show Jumping.

Field Hunter- Scoring changes and clarification

Ranch Work- Format and scoring clarification. Language added about bitting.

STAFF CHANGES
Our intern, Grace Edwards, wrapped up her gap year with us last month and we're pretty sad to see her go- she was a hard- working part of the team and a joy to have around. On Monday we welcome Sallie Roberts to our team as our new part time Administrative Assistant. Sallie is a recently retired federal employee who was first introduced to Off- Track Thoroughbreds grooming in a Polo barn in the 70's. She's been a supporter of RRP since our inception and has a 2002 son of Malibu Moon, Cerulean Moon. She's an active horse show volunteer both locally and at the Kentucky 4* and multiple WEGs. We think she will be a great addition to the team and I'm sure you guys will "see" her around very soon answering your questions and helping out however she can.
